A creative designer and artist, Kiera Counce also known as ‘LZ’, and ‘Thatpoet’ is determined to make her music the greatest quality possible regardless of where she is. Kiera Counce was born in Kansas City, raised in Atlanta Georgia and now resides in Dallas, Texas. She is already pretty diverse. As an artist, she has had the numerous projects that have caught others eye. From performing at the shows, to doing interactive interviews with multiple different brands, she keeps consistent on her releases with music as well.
“Working with New Generation Dance Company with Stylez by Miranda. I am also currently putting work in the Shops of Willow Bend Mall” Kiera Counce is now putting in a lot of effort to hone her skill with the expectation that she would one day achieve the highest level of success. She has given performances of her songs to and she has a wide range of talents in addition to the singular source of inspiration that she draws from.
Kiera Counce speaks on her inspiration and the motives she is able to succeed. “Right now, the goal is to keep the end goal in mind. I have many projects I’m now working on to get me to that next level in the industry, whether that be my art or my clothing. I aspire to be a leading artist in the world of design, by making on design come true at a time I believe in the household name. The brand LzUp means God’s love is up. It’s only up from here with his strength and my faith I can make it all happen.” Her goals and the reasons she pursues them set her up for success in all she undertakes.

I can cook, clean and buy my own ring lol. I read and meditate when working out.
How have you overcome struggles to be where you are now?
Right now, is a perfect time for me to be an example for others to follow simply because it’s a time where I’ve been here before. The mental toughness I endured before prepared me for the plate I’ve received at the table I’ll be seated at. I think if we work on those points that make us look weak, we can play off the strength we have when we’re able to move past that tough goal and say, “wow I was able to do it a second time” and it gets easier and easier. Now every level has a devil but don’t let that stop you if anything let that be a leverage for help.
As a business owner, what are some obstacles you have had to overcome to get where you are at?
As a owner, I think believing in the value of your brand is most important to the people that support it. Without believing in yourself and knowing your worth you lose the value that could be coming in you. I would say trust your intuition if you know you got a money maker don’t let anyone leave you out of your own bag.
Who were the most influential people in your life?
My family and God. I thank God for the talent and gift. I thank my family for the morals and keeping me grounded when I felt the world trying to take what I was building and destroy it. I am nothing without God and faith.
Not only is Thatpoet an experienced artist, but she is also a musician who has a great deal of knowledge. She hopes that with the force of her music, she would be able to have a positive influence on the world and attain greater levels of success in her career. Thatpoet puts in the hours of hard work, makes a commitment to the effort, and finds inspiration in her job. Being in the studio, she has put together some major projects.
“The best advice I can give any person in the same path as me would be to keep that head up, shoulders straight and before you let that negative thought slip in and take over your mood, say one positive thing to yourself first. When you wake up there should be something on the mirror reminding you of what you are going after day by day and once you get it, make a new note and conquer that goal. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly expecting a different result. Well what results do we want to be insane about?”
As a necessary result of the effort she has put in, she will be in a position to strengthen the foundation that she has already established by building additional elements on top of it and expanding the scope of those elements. Her reasons for doing what she does are strong. “I want people to know that I’m still making art, currently no commissioned pieces, just art that drives directly from my soul. I want those timeless pieces to come naturally. I’m also going to be doing collaborations with other designers for model workshops and runway shows this year and the following.”
This will allow her to improve the foundation that she has already established. Thatpoet will be successful in achieving her goal because she never gives up, and in order to keep her position at the top, she can only see success in the years to come.
