“I have some old art that I’m turning into prints and digital art because I’m planning on selling my art at shows and local events on weekends. I also kind of have an NFT project I’ve been promoting for months that’s about mental health and embracing individuality. Aside from that, I host weekly poetry spaces on Twitter for whoever wants to come and share their work and share my own poems sometimes.” Raven Jordan is working hard to enhance her work constantly in order to reach the peak of accomplishment. Being on top of her work ethic, Rae Violet stays Thoughtful, tastefully weird, resilient in creating content.

Where are you from?

Dallas, Texas. I spent most of my childhood in Oak Cliff and have spent most of my time in the Northeast and Southwest parts of Dallas.

How have you overcome struggles to be where you are now?

I’ve learned to be more intentional with self care and taking time to be selfish when the world is asking too much of me. So whether that’s journaling, drinking tea, taking a walk or listening to my favorite songs, those are some ways. I also just think back on my goals and remind myself if I don’t do it, it’s not gonna get done.

As a business owner, what are some obstacles you have had to overcome to get where you are at?

Being underestimated because of (at first) my lack of experience. Lots of criticism from others because I wasn’t meeting their standards. Long hours and feeling like giving up. Figuring out how to find a balance between work, life and fun.

What do you have coming up right now that you want others to know about?

I’m doing a reset on the content I’ll be posting on my blog (raesvioletwords.wordpress.com), the poetry spaces I host and my art account. I’m trying to shift from less moody, emotional content to more positive, grateful content.

Who were the most influential people in your life?

My mama, Issa Rae, Street artists/ muralists, and Toni Morrison.

Due to the fact that Rae Violet has been known in her field, her content only continues to expand. This has had an effect on her overall career in the sense that she has set up and participated in a number of various projects with others as well. Rae Violet is a successful entrepreneur, writer, and digital artist. Even if things don’t always go as planned in the actual world, Rae Violet does not give up. The traits of determination, creativity, loyalty, empathy, awareness, and intelligence are instilled within Rae Violet and what she portrays. “I’m very goal-driven and have an image of where I want to be. And I know I’ll get there if I’m consistent and don’t give up. I just want to make sure I’m getting better and making new connections in these creative spaces when I can. Don’t think too hard about each piece, give it your own meaning. Most of the art I create have simple messages or are based on emotion and music.”
