Marquis Perkins, also known as ‘ILoveQuisey’ (Pronounced Key-See) is a performing artist originally from the Central Valley in Fresno, California, who is now residing in Dallas, Texas. The artist has a few projects to look forward to in the upcoming seasons. He derives from humble beginnings and has been dedicated to his work continuously over the past few years. He has been focused on never stopping his development and also always having content to strive for. “Currently, I am creatively working on my latest music EP titled “LOOK AT ME NOW!” With the right intentions ahead, the unique business owner is very innovative with his work, and has qualities of being creative, intuitive, and self-motivated, ILoveQuisey stays positive.
ILoveQuisey seeks honesty on his journey and remains heavily influenced by particular motivating factors. He knows where his passion starts from and speaks more on his inspirations that keep him consistent. “Something that I find inspiring at this very moment is the legacy of the late superstar athlete Kobe Bryant. Amongst all adversity he was able to provide exceptional performances night after night as well maintaining the upkeep of his immediate family.” ILoveQuisey stays consistent and has been seen at lots of shows doing what he loves most.
How have you overcome struggles to be where you are at now?
To me, the thought of overcoming struggles would imply that life is perfect but to be completely honest I anticipate all challenges.
What piece of advice do you want others to take back from the work you display?
The best piece of advice I would want others to take back from this interview would be to treat every opportunity as it is your last by doing your absolute best to achieve whatever goal it is you pursue. That way your body-of-work will stand the test time and be a great resource for others inspirationally.
What do you have coming up right now that you want others to know about?
Something that I have coming up that I want other people to know about is again –my new EP titled “LOOK AT ME NOW!” which will be available on all streaming platforms Nov. 22nd, 2022. I also want others to be involved in my upcoming marketing venture, which titled “Hunnid4Hunnid” where I offer a package of merch for $100 to 100 people.
Even though ILoveQuisey is devoted to perfecting the art of his craft to the highest level, his hardships have made him want to do even better in his business as well. “The biggest obstacle I’ve encountered as a professional or business owner would have to be learning how to license and publish material all by myself. Another extreme obstacle I constantly face is understanding financial literacy.” ILoveQuisey is now focused on continuing to be the best in his city, so that he can build on his already strong foundation ‘Digital Medication’ even more than it already is.
ILoveQuisey mentions within the interview that certain individuals in his life have inspired him to be great, starting from his own family. “The most influential people in my life would have to be my mom and my oldest brother simply because of the amount of support they have contributed towards my success. Even as an adult they’ve never hesitated to tell me when I’m doing wrong and/or how proud of me they are for chasing my dreams.”
As a result of the COVID-19 epidemic, a lot of big-crowd events, like concerts and festivals, were banned in 2021. This was because of restrictions put in place by both the city and the federal government. As a result, the number of chances for artists to show off their skills has been dramatically cut down. ILoveQuisey remained optimistic through it all.
