Bradley Williams, also known as “TheV1LLAIN” is an artist from the South Chicago area, now residing in the DFW. The artist is doing a lot of great work. From being consistently dedicated to his work as long as he remembers, pushing past adversities, and still pursuing his dreams, TheV1LLAIN speaks more on his upcoming endeavors. “I’ve started releasing consistently for the first time so I’m working on dropping a mixtape at the end of this month and follow with a project early in 2023 and preparing visuals. I never stopped actively pursuing my goals. Discipline and consistency, but 95% is just not stopping. Through not having a place to stay or Covid, and thinking I’d never have a platform, or near poverty with my family. I went through every emotion and never quit.”
TheV1LLAIN is known to be passionate, when it comes to his demeanor and work ethic. TheV1LLAIN is on the right path despite the hardships he grew up in and overcame. TheV1LLAIN has been through a lot, but stays consistent on his current endeavors. “Music has always inspired me, the things that I experience in my life everyday inspire me whether that be positive or negative. I feel like music has lost some of the authenticity, a lot of people say what you want to hear and don’t stay individualistic. Everyone cares about the feeling but words matter.” TheV1LLAIN stays motivated. His hardships have made him who he is and TheV1LLAIN does not stop pushing. Because of his consistent work, he is now an upcoming and talented artist coming out of his city.
Three Qualities to Describe you:
I’m very artistic, always trying to create things specifically involving writing. I’m also emotional. Not in the way you think but more every emotion I feel tends to be multiples. I would also say that I’m true gen Z. This has led me to mental health issues such as intense feelings of despair and apathy or depressive episodes (partially from self medication) I only mention this because u feel like my entire generation experiences this in some way due to over exposure from the internet and social media communications.
What piece of advice you want others to take back from the work you display?
Don’t believe what people tell you, and don’t believe what you hear. Listen to what you’re playing. Don’t believe the hype.
What do you have coming up right now that you want others to know about?
I just released my single SailorMoon, I have a mixtape dropping at the end of the month and I’ll be doing my first live performance at CreatorsDontDie in Dallas on Dec 29
Who were the most influential people in your life?
The most influential people in my life are my mother, my father, my younger sister, and three of my closest friends who I consult for everything.
TheV1LLAIN’s hardships have made him want to keep pushing despite anything. His work remains unique and worthy. “Being an independent artist can be difficult because you have to play multiple roles, especially getting started with limited resources and credibility. It’s hard to navigate ways to generate revenue as well as maintaining creative drive for your passion. The algorithms don’t validate to under the radar artists. And there is never enough time in a day.”
The emphasis of TheV1LLAIN’s concentration is now on continuing to pursue his musical profession in order to build his already strong foundation even further than it is already. TheV1LLAIN has his sights set on the prize and realizes that in order to be successful, one must not only invest in oneself, but also in those who will invest in you in exchange for their efforts on his behalf.
