Interview With Singer, Faith Mason

Interview With Singer, Faith Mason

NOVEMBER 2022- CHICAGO, ILLINOIS-

Faith Mason, is a singer, songwriter, and photographer from Sacile, Italy, with influences in Dallas, Texas and Chicago, Illinois. She was born in Sacile, Italy and grew up in Antlers, Oklahoma. As a diverse and unique artist, she has had numerous projects that have caught the eye of others. Faith remains consistent on her journey, and is constantly improving. Known as ambitious, creative, and courageous with her work, Faith explains the journey of her work.

“I also create my own art prints that I hope to turn into a book in the future. I have an EP coming out in the near future that I’m very excited about. There is so much pure, raw emotion involved in my new music and each song is wildly different. It is the hardest and most vulnerable project I have ever worked on. In the meantime go check out my single on spotify and apple music, ‘Never Enough for U’”. Faith is now putting in a lot of effort to display her skills, one day to achieve the highest level of success. She is on the right path to do so.

Faith speaks of her inspiration and what helps her get through rough times. “The outrageous love I’ve been able to witness with traveling and opening myself up to the world. I’ve spent the last year in Chicago and have had the privilege of collaborating with amazing artists and learning so much about others’ experiences. It has shaped me to be more empathetic and inspired me to be a better artist.” Her goals and the reasons she pursues them set her up for success in all she undertakes.

What piece of advice do you want others to take back from the work you display?

I would say, truly live your life for YOU. Don’t worry so much about what others think. They will not understand why you do what you do but the great part about this is-they don’t have to. I spent a great deal of time living my life under others’ opinions, guidelines, and expectations. I have worked with good, bad, and great artists. I think the best ones find a way to fight for what they feel they need to show the world. Great artists fight for their work unapologetically, despite the cost.

As a business owner, what are some obstacles you have had to overcome to get where you are at?

Starting my photography business during covid was a risky move. I had to learn to be persistent despite the inconsistent external events of the world. I was constantly researching and learning as much as I could during a time of great uncertainty. Many small business owners struggled and were forced to shut down during this time but it also created a different sense of community since everyone was fighting together.

What do you have coming up right now that you want others to know about?

I have an EP coming out in the near future that I’m very excited about. There is so much pure, raw emotion involved in my new music and each song is wildly different. It is the hardest and most vulnerable project I have ever worked on. In the meantime go check out my single on spotify and apple music, “Never Enough for U”.

As a result of the COVID-19 epidemic, a lot of big-crowd events, like concerts and festivals, were banned in 2021. This was because of restrictions put in place by both the city and the federal government. As a result, the number of chances for artists to show off their skills has been dramatically cut down. However, Faith remained steadfast through it all. “I have overcome many obstacles both mentally and physically from a young age. I started writing at 13 and that became my coping mechanism for everything. High School and College were very difficult times for me in my personal life but pushing myself  to be consistent with every level of performance kept me going. I have found that if you can find one thing in this life that sets your heart on fire- run for it and don’t let anything or anyone stop you.”

Faith mentions within the interview that certain individuals in her life have inspired her to be great, starting from her own family. “ I would have to say my grandad. He is the most consistent, analytical, and persistent person I know. He’s always supported me no matter the circumstance and is the backbone of our family. He has been present for the majority of my performances in my childhood and I am honored to be his granddaughter. ” Faith will be successful in achieving her goal because she never gives up, and in order to keep her position at the top, she can only see success in the years to come.
