Quarterback Dennis McCarthy Selected for NFL Alumni Academy

Boston College Quarterback Dennis McCarthy is a step closer to returning from injury, he recently took part in the NFL Alumni Academy in Arlington Texas. The NFL Alumni Academy is an in-season invite only training program to develop 50 injured and top free agent NFL players in preparation to sign an in-season contract with an NFL team looking to replace 500+ players lost each season to injury The opportunity automatically invites McCarthy to an XFL training camp if he is not signed to an NFL team prior. The NFL developed the Alumni Academy as a 3 week training ground for NFL free agents and injured reserve players to hone their skills and show off for scouts. All workouts and practice sessions are taped and made available to NFL teams through a 24/7 private portal.

If McCarthy is not signed to an NFL team this season he will automatically sign with one of the XFL’s 8 teams returning in January, guaranteeing his pro football future and elevating his chances of once again making a 90-man NFL training camp roster, McCarthy trained with the New England Patriots but lingering hip and shoulder issues kept him off the field. The NFL Alumni Academy should help players such as Dennis McCarthy make their return to the NFL field after injury setbacks a reality.
