Interview With Artist, BHill


BHill, also known as ‘LazyEye’, is a creative artist living in the Austin area in Texas. Originally born and mostly raised in Oklahoma, BHill was an army brat that ended up settling in central Texas. He remains determined and genuine with his endeavors. BHill, has always maintained his commitment to excellence and the motivations of those around him. BHill discusses his future plans and the driving forces behind his perseverance. 

“Currently I’m working on multiple portrait commission orders, larger anime canvas pieces, and originals for my showcasing. January 19th and 21st I’ll be showcasing in Dallas, Texas. February 17th and 24th I’ll be showcasing in Austin, Texas. April 22nd and 29th I’ll be showcasing in Austin Texas then returning back to Dallas Texas. The diverse creative, BHill, explains more on the struggles he has overcome to be where he is at. BHill keeps going because he knows that his hardships have made him stronger. “Sept 22nd 2020, I went to the hospital for a covid test check, which came out negative. A week after I was diagnosed with aggressive thyroid cancer. Oct 13th 2020, I underwent a major surgery to remove 14 lymph nodes in a 13 hour surgery affecting the nerves in my neck and right side of my back. Having to recover not only physically to do day to day tasks such as turn and stretch, I had to recover to see if I was able to do art the same as I was before. After time and patience not only was I able to complete one of my favorite pieces but I’ve reached levels in my art career that I've only imagined, with the drive to imagine more.” 

Motive is not an issue for BHill. BHill’s family, friends, support, and even his fellow artist associates help inspire and drive him on a daily basis. During the ups, downs, and everything in between.

As a business owner, what are some obstacles you have had to overcome to get where you are at?

Keeping up with it all, like juggling multiple different objects varying in weight and size.

Who were the most influential people in your life?

My family and loved ones.

BHill is now focusing on keeping up his motivating grind so that he may expand upon his present success and continue to serve as an inspiration to others.Finally, he offers guidance about some important aspects of his grind and his inspiration. “Live your life to its fullest potential, the goal is to be genuinely happy, not superficial.” BHill constantly retains his focus on the end result, which he is aware is crucial if he wants to succeed. BHill has made the correct decision and remains steadfast.
