Giulia Petucco, also known as ‘Alex Duchenes’ is a rapper and singer from Reggio Emilia, a city in Northern Italy, who now resides in Dallas, Texas. She has all around talent that has followed her for years. She has a remarkable way of interacting with her audience and fans. Alex Duchenes is determined to make the best in her music as possible, no matter where she is. “At the moment I’m trying to produce my first album; I’m learning how to produce hip-hop tracks and, as I work, I find out how amazing the technology we have in this time is. I use Logic Pro X, (a gift from my parents!) and honestly I feel like it’s an incredible program that creates great songs.” Alex Duchenes is working hard to enhance her work constantly in order to reach the peak of accomplishment.

I also have a long list of people that influence me from their music; first and foremost, Eminem, who was the one that inspired me to try writing rap verses and songs. Mostly my past is inspiring me right now; I’ve always been the girl who was set aside, ignored, laughed at and in some cases also bullied. I used to suffer a lot because of it, but now this pain has become fuel for my dreams. I’m so excited to find out what my future will be like!”
Give three qualities that describe you:
I’d say that the first and most important quality of mine is that I’m very creative, I absorb everything I experience and I put it into my music in order to make it flourish and improve it! Also, and I don’t know if this can be described as a quality, but I like dreaming big; I know exactly what I want, I’m learning how to get there and I’m not scared of failure. Lastly, I’d say that I’m a courageous person; I’ve struggled a lot in the past with my mental health and stability, but I never gave up on myself and my dreams.
As a business owner, what are some obstacles you have had to overcome to get where you are at?
I’m not exactly a business owner yet, and I’m right at the beginning of my career. Definitely the biggest obstacle was my own mind; I tend to self sabotage a lot, therefore this is a big battle that I’m fighting. I’m hopeful, though!

Alex Duchenes is a successful musical artist, and has a great future set up for herself. Even if things don't always go as planned in the actual world, Alex Duchenes does not give up. “Professionals helped me dealing with my struggles, but also my parents and my fiancé, whom I deeply love. I’ve worked on myself a lot, I’ve learned a lot of techniques on how to deal with my emotions and the daily struggles. Even though I’m not exactly where I want to be, it could be much worse, so I’m very grateful for it. I want to advocate for mental health, which is still absolutely too ignored in this modern day society. Most of my songs talk about my struggles, and my message is generally that everything will be okay if you make it okay. Things won’t be better by themselves, you have to work hard in order to heal from your wounds. But still I truly hope someone might feel better knowing that pain is temporary and everything is in their control.”
