Producer, Brawvo, From Houston Has Major Work Coming Up

Jonathan Amoakohene, also known as ‘Brawvo’ is a producer and artist from Conway, Arkansas area, now residing in Houston, Texas.  Brawvo built his music on his great skills and love for what he did. He works hard to get to the top and do well in everything he does now and in the future. He is driven at work by his desire to make a change not just in Texas but also in other parts of the country.  Brawvo talks about his work. “Several things at the moment. I’m working on a project with an artist in Little Rock, Arkansas by the name of Jay Bundy. Also, I have a song, ‘Emo Thug’ with an artist called Brazy Haze in Dallas. I believe the song can be big when we start promoting it (currently on SoundCloud - Brawvobeats – Emo Thug) on a larger scale. I also have an EP with my guy, IntlStro, in the works as well. I moved to Houston one year ago so I am still trying to network and lock in with artists here as well.”

As an overall talented person,  Brawvo remains consistent and always has projects coming up. “I’ve overcome struggles by just having the belief that my time is coming. Also, when I hear stories of others that struggled to make it, I am reminded that I can’t skip the process.” The multi creative based out of Texas aims to make a statement with his current and future projects. Brawvo is known to be ambitious, humble, and family-oriented and he has been positively inspiring others to become better. He leads by example, and has great precision and consistency as a multifaceted individual. “I feel like it’s a calling. I’ve stopped making music but something inside of me says ‘keep going’. I also don’t make the same music everyone else is making and I think that is something rap/hip-hop is currently lacking. So once I meet the right people, I believe I can be a breath of fresh air.”

What do you have coming up right now that you want others to know about?

The song “Emo Thug!!” Please go listen on Soundcloud and support the movement (Brawvobeats – Emo Thug). In the future, I will have the project with Jay Bundy, a beat album with @Dreroyalbeats, and the EP with @Intlstro. I’m always networking so there will be more projects in the future.

Brawvo explained that the motivation came from seeing the success of his work and also not giving up.  “The biggest obstacle I have had to overcome is I had to overcome that voice in my head saying that you’ll never be as good as your contemporaries or your heroes. That same voice motivated me to try new sounds and flows and keeps me on my toes of what’s real to me and what isn’t. Overcoming the obstacle of not having immediate hits was a big to get over because it really had me trapped in my own head but once I was free of that , I opened my mind to dreams I never dreamed before.”

Brawvo has worked with many different people to reach different goals, and he has always done a good job. He works well with others and talks about people who have been important in his life. “The most influential people in my life are my parents because of the sacrifices they had to make as immigrants. I’m sure many people can relate with that. Not making excuses, strong work ethic, unwavering faith in God, being family oriented, etc. This all stems from my parents.”

Brawvo explains that this was a major motivation in his life and gives a piece of advice for others to take back. “One day I hope to be an inspiration for many people. ‘Making it’ in music isn’t easy so when I get to where I want to be, I want to remind people to always keep going. Sounds cliché but it’s true, you can’t give up on your dreams.”
