Bobby Jackson or “Bojack” as some would call him, is a private chef and catering associate with one of the best tastes in the city. He stays devoted and works hard on his preparation in the kitchen and gets nothing, but eye-watering looks in his dishes. Becoming more serious, being dedicated to his work, and proving others wrong remains a goal for Bojack and he is on the right track to doing so.
“I love to cook for my friends and family. I really be my all in my cooking. I really do love when someone tells me you didn’t cook this, and who helped you do this food. I also work a part-time job at this warehouse. I’m a very hard-working ex-con who’s just trying to do better in life every day” Bojack is a well-rounded chef who refuses to give up even when things don't go as planned.
What is it creatively that you are working on?
I am working on this small food tour hitting a couple of steaks from the south and am working on trying to get me a small building somewhere on east Ledbetter in Oak Cliff so I can give every person with an Oak Cliff area code a 25% discount every Sunday for the rest of they life. I try my hardest to be creative and good at the same time I want it too to look good and taste good. Sometimes I come up with my best idea as I’m cooking.
What is inspiring you right now consistently to work on your endeavors?
I want to be one of the Dallas greats with my creativity and my work performance. And to be honest, I love working around the homeless, like giving them old clothes and shoes. Even giving them little jobs to put money in the pocket. You know sometimes people need that little push in life. You don’t know where it can lead them as to do better for themselves and boost their confidence again. Because a lot of people look down on people who done fell off and stuck in the hold.
How have you overcome struggles to be where you are at now?
I’m still dealing with struggles just like anyone else, but I am learning from them struggles & appreciate everything I went thought trust me from going to the pen & starting all over, was a big tasks & still a task but I’m progressing well every day & not forgetting my past.
What do you have coming up right now that you want others to know about?
Well, right now I’m working on a food pantry for my neighborhood that ever family that’s register with us can come get their family sum groceries every 15th of each month-long as they updated in our system.
Who were the most influential people in your life?
Well, the most influential people in my life is my father. He taught me to work hard at a young age after my mother died. Well, to be honest, way before she died. I know she looking down on me & walking with me as I get better. You know what I think, she’s the one cooking this food. She was one hell of a cook. And my neighborhood gives me motivation daily.
Even though Bojack is devoted to perfecting the art of his cooking to the highest level, his hardships have made him want to do even better in his business. “I went through a lot of ups and downs even working part-time jobs because I was failing at things that I wasn’t really focused on. But you got to focus on whatever you want to do you. Got to have passion for it. I enjoy the smiles more than the money because if you treat people right, they are going treat you right.”
