Lina Shuliar mostly known as Lina.lcfr, is a tattoo artist from the Sakhalin island, Russia. She is an award winning artist, who have been tattooing for over 12 years. This tattoo artist came to America and in just half a year, she conquered the audience with his unique style and identity, earned many awards and became a judge at the largest tattoo festivals in the country. She loves the building connections between people and love doing different challenging projects.
Lina is a one-of-a-kind artist. From her fangs to her fiery personality she is the force to be reckoned with. Tattooing since 2010 marking over 12 years of experience under her belt. She has been Traveling and drawing all her life and loves to learn new things. Lina likes mysticism and mythology. She is truly inspired by dark fantasy and anime. Lina is very interested in working with Japanese mythology and culture since she grew up in it. Her Specialties include B&G Preferred - Horror, Neo Traditional, Black Work, Neo & Traditional Japanese. When she is not at the studio she is taking care of her pet snake ‘Kisa’ and eating lots of chocolate.
She works with the wide range of media and techniques to design and create. She tattoos as she paints; with striking freestyle artwork, strong graphic contrast and expressive brush strokes, creating a correlation between traditional and the modern painting media. Coming from a traditional life drawing arts, her unique abstract style focuses on the accentuating of the body´s physiology and natural flow.
According to Lina “Tattoo is an event in the person's life. This is tantamount to a trip, a holiday, and any other significant moment. For many, this is a salvation from routine, a chance to visit the new atmosphere and exchange experiences. This is definitely not just a drawing”. She says that people themselves inspire her with their ideas. And in general, the female body, beauty, mysticism and darkness, Japanese culture and art are very inspiring for her.
“Overseas clients give a lot of the freedom in creativity, they come to you because they really love what you do. That is, they are more open to something new. It develops you as a person and an artist”. She think that all the girls that she paint and bring to life are special. She put a lot of energy into each of them, and she get an extraordinary return from both their owners and the public. She believe they are magical.
She thinks that society's values are already changing now, new orders appears in society. So, there will be a different approach to work. Changes are coming, and the tattooists are very dependent on people, and it is in their interest to be professional in their work as never before. Many people will leave the profession, they simply cannot survive the crisis of changes.
Collaboration Tattoo Projects
Lina and Dmitrii(A Tattoo Artist) worked in the same studio when she moved to St. Petersburg. They come up with each project together, regardless of who makes it. All projects that they do, everything is discussed at the family council, what to whom, how and where. They have communicate with the client together, spend time together at the sessions. Collaborations also happen, especially when time is limited and they need to complete the project on time.
Types of Clients in a Tattoo Studio
Over the years of work in the tattoo industry, fate brought her to different people. Cooks, officers, lawyers, bandits, deputies, mothers, artists, models - they are all different, unique, but still can be classified.
She will divide everyone into two global groups: ‘First Tattoo’ and ‘Enlightened’.
"First Tattoo" are those for whom this is the first time, the first experience of communication and the application process. They are priceless for any tattoo artist, and no matter what tattoo will be the first, it should be the best. So, the ‘First Tattoo’ clients are of different types such as Desperate, Victim, Romantic, Classic, etc.
"Enlightened" are those who have already tasted the forbidden fruit and hooked on the needle. Many of them meet over the years with varying frequency. The master-client relationship is invaluable to both. This is a real relationship built on trust over the years. ‘Enlightened’ clients are mostly Survivor, Post romantic, Immortal classic, etc.
