Sha’Key.TheArtist Has An Inspirational Story

MARCH 2023- ARLINGTON, TEXAS-

Keysha Romnae Bradley, also known as ‘Sha’Key.TheArtist’ is a musical artist from Pontotoc, Mississippi. It’s about fifteen minutes away from a place called Tupelo, Mississippi, where it is known for its musical stars, such as the famous Elvis Presley. Sha’Key.TheArtist, keeps her musical presence known all around. Even including Texas. Known as  empathetic, imaginative, and open minded in the efforts that have been led out throughout her life, Sha’Key.TheArtist is just an overall talented artist. She has had numerous projects that have caught the eye of others. She remains consistent on her projects through her music, and is always having new ideas with her work. Sha’Key.TheArtist explains her current projects.

"I am working on recording and releasing my singles and preparing for my first EP entitled ‘Fine Print.’ This project is especially important to me because as the iconic Ms. Erykah Badu talked about in ‘Love of My Life’ music is like a diary for me. I am grateful that I always had my family and friends to vent to but there were still times when I never really felt heard. There were some things that just seemed too complicated to understand and others too uncomfortable to talk about. Music gives me the opportunity to be free and to express myself wholeheartedly, it is the place where I can let my guard down. ‘Fine Print’ is exactly that, it is about diving into my world and experiencing my vulnerability. Growing up I always felt like people thought my life was perfect, but I am here to say that I have struggled before too, we are not as different as we think".

Sha’Key.TheArtist is now putting in a lot of effort to display her skills, with the expectation that she would one day achieve the highest level of success. She is on the right path to do so. Sha’Key.TheArtist speaks on some of her motivations at the moment. “What is inspiring and pushing me the most right now is the visions I have for my life and the synchronicities that confirm them. Like GloRilla said, ‘that’s why I love tomorrow.’ Every moment is an opportunity to try again, to start over, to move forward, and to change your life. It is looking back on the things that I thought would break me like failing one of my last classes last semester.  My world was shattered, and I lost everything I thought was me. Although it feels like an inconvenient situation at times I just keep pushing. My instructor Dr.McNichol advised me to be ‘10 percent better than I was the day before’ and I have since made that my mantra. Also, my loved ones keep me going. They are so supportive, and I could not imagine getting through school or pursuing my music without them.” Her goals and the reasons she pursues them set her up for success in all she undertakes.

How have you overcome struggles to be where you are now?

I have learned to heal myself by allowing me to feel myself. Feel every emotion from every situation. Be present with me and what is going on around me. I know that I cannot control external factors, but I am in total control of myself. Learning to stay positive and think clearly and intentionally. Your subconscious only recognizes your voice so pay attention to what you say to yourself and about yourself. I am also incorporating being intentional about the choices I make about the foods I eat, the music I listen to, etc. I watch different motivational videos on YouTube to keep my energy high as much as possible and learn how to meditate and just sit with myself. Sometimes I feel like I have a million things to do and not enough time to do it. It has been important for me to incorporate as much “me time” as possible. You are the one who keeps yourself from going insane. To summarize what Sadhguru said, “we suffer because of our own thoughts not our situations.”

As a business owner, what are some obstacles you have had to overcome to get where you are at?

Money management. I cannot really say finances are the issue because I have had opportunities to make good moves and did not always do that. I had to learn to not only treat my music like a business but also treat my life as a business. I had to learn to be more intentional. This is my life, my art, my music. I need to make better decisions and be more strategic instead of sporadically making moves and decisions. I had to get over my negative thoughts or ego, telling me that I could not be successful, that I was not a good artist, that I should drop out of school, and I cared way too much about what other people would think and feel about me. I also think just staying true to the vision regardless of the way you perceive it to be in the present moment. There are certain things that must happen, certain things that happen behind the scenes, and things for you to learn before reaching your destination. Be patient and enjoy the ride. If we know where we tryna go, why do we care how long it is going to take us to get there. Just know that you will make it. Do the best you can and give your best at everything you do, and the rest will fall into place.

Who were the most influential people in your life?

One of the most influential people in my life I would have to say is my Grandmother Laverne. She has the kindest soul and never meets a stranger. I have always loved how welcoming and comforting her presence feels and her ability to love unconditionally. She has always wanted the best for me and now I only want to be my best and take care of myself and my family in return for all their love and support.

What do you have coming up right now that you want others to know about?

Again, I will be recording and releasing a few singles and my first EP entitled “Fine Print.” I also will be performing in my first ever showcase “93 Productions Presents Artistic Sounds” on Sunday, March 19th.  Doors open at 6:30 and the show starts at 7:30 at 4 The Culture 115 N Carroll Ave, Dallas TX 75226. I am so excited to be sharing some unreleased music with everyone and as a token of my appreciation I will be giving away two free tickets. To enter the drawing please like my post on Instagram and comment “TICKET”.  I am so honored to grace the stage with some amazing artists like Demund Rogers, Kennedy Taylor, Timeless Mindz, and Play Simone Naomiraee to name a few. Also, full disclosure I have not met any of these artists yet, so I just chose a few names from the flyer, but I am excited to meet them all and experience their performances.

Not only is Sha’Key.TheArtist an experienced business owner, but she is also an author who has a great deal of knowledge. She hopes that with the force of her work, she will be able to have a positive influence on the world and attain greater levels of success in her career. Sha’Key.TheArtist puts in hours of hard work and makes it a commitment to find inspiration in everything around her. She concludes the interview by giving a piece of advice  that she wants others to take back from her overall work.

“When people hear my music, I want them to know that I feel what they are going through and that it is okay to be who you are. Who cares what people think, feel, and say about you and your life? You are currently in this one life so make the most of it. Stay true to yourself and your passions no matter what, even if no one sees your dreams or feels like your dreams are too big for you to make it into reality you keep going. If you could bet on anyone on this Earth it should be you, only you know what you are truly capable of and the power that you possess. We are all uniquely talented in our own way and it is up to us to figure out what that is and use it. Think positively 24/7. I know in the real world that it does not always happen. We are emotional creatures, but I am encouraging you to feel those feelings and try to combat it with positive thinking. Your thoughts are immensely powerful, the very buildings, vehicles, planes etc. that we see every day all started with a thought first. Think about it.”

As a necessary result of the effort she has put in, she will be in a position to strengthen the foundation that she has already established by building the additional elements on top of it and expanding the scope of those elements. Keysha Romnae Bradley, also known as ‘Sha’Key.TheArtist’ will be successful in achieving her goal because she never gives up. She will only see success in the days to come.
