Jackson Osborne, also known as ‘A.J.I. (A Jubilant Individual)’ is an artist originally from Waco, Texas. The artist has set his eyes on the top, and is determined to reach there. From putting in work for years and building his credibility in the city and from back home, the artist is continuing to lead in the industry and his work catches the attention of his listeners fast. Hardworking, upbeat, and respectful, A.J.I. has a strong goal with his music: he wants to stay committed to his work while building a legacy. “I make my own music, I write my own songs and pay out of my own pocket for all beats, studio time, photoshoots, performance, and opportunities.” A.J.I. is destined for greatness.
Although failure is common while traveling far from home, A.J.I., a young artist who doesn't give up easily, isn't one to do that. He treats his working relationships seriously. His aspiration is to keep moving ahead and use his music to make a positive difference despite the difficulties. “What inspires me is that I have a vision of who I want to be in life and I won't fulfill that by being an idiot and wasting my time. There are things that I feel that I have to do before I leave this world and I don’t want to be filled with regret when it’s my time to go.”
What do you have coming up right now that you want others to know about?
As of right now I do have a show coming up October 20th with @Blaccent.inc (on instagram). Otherwise please follow me on my IG @a.j.i.official for all updates as that's the main way I promote and post content. I am working on new music and I’m working on doing music videos and getting cover art. It’s all a process, an expensive one. But it’s worth it to get my work heard by the people because I know that I have something that's different and I know that I’m going to use my resources wisely, rather than blowing 25k for a stupid watch I can use that to make better content, or even help people. That's all I really want to do with my music.
Who were the most influential people in your life?
My Mother for sure. Being raised by a single mother who's a psychologist will definitely give a young man some different perspective on how to handle his emotions. My grandparents who also helped raise me and got me into piano lessons when I was a child, if it weren't for them, I'm not sure I would be making music right now. Anderson . Paak. I certainly have never met the man but he is a huge inspiration to me both as a person and as a musician, went from being homeless to performing with Bruno Mars at the Grammys in Vegas! If there’s anyone that I do really want to meet celebrity wise it's him. (Also I can confidently say that I'm one of his biggest fans, as I was in the top .1% of listeners on spotify) Mac Miller. An artist who is gone too soon. I'd honestly like to think that should I find success I would almost carry the torch for what he was doing. No one can ever replace him but without him and his music I would not have fallen in love with his sound,which influences mine.
A.J.I. has been up and coming in his city and in others for a long time. Honest, the artist and creative, never gives up and is quite clear about his aims and ambitions, even through times of hardship. “I don’t want to get too into the nitty gritty details but I have seen the demons of alcoholism and what it can do to the people around you. I’ve also been lied to, heartbroken, backstabbed by people I thought were my friends. I’ve been burned and scammed and had people lie about me for drama or whatever reasons they have. And yet I always keep my head held high and keep moving forward because I know that diamonds are formed under pressure and if it weren’t for the trials I’m facing now I wouldn't be able to fully appreciate the success once I achieve it.” His goal is to keep moving ahead and to create something meaningful with his music. A.J.I. makes a difference in the music industry by putting in the hours of effort, enthusiasm, and motivation.
A.J.I. continues by saying that his love of music would always be his motivation in life. Honest sees himself as an ambitious artist who, because of his perseverance and work ethic, has more recently inspired and motivated others. Others look up to him.
A.J.I.’s passion for creating his songs have pushed his drive and work ethic. He stays focused, honed, and disciplined in his work. A.J.I. makes an impact in the industry and leaves the interview with some advice for others. “We are all human, we all make mistakes and no matter how perfect someone's life may seem from the outside, we’re all battling our own demons. We aren’t always defined by our mistakes, but we are defined by how we learn from them.”
The emphasis of A.J.I. 's concentration is now on continuing to pursue his musical profession in order to build his already strong foundation even further than it is already. Jackson Osborne, also known as ‘A.J.I. (A Jubilant Individual)’ has his sights set on the prize.
